Issue
The large Naval Storage Warehouse was in need of a new roofing system given the deterioration of the existing modified roofing membrane. Several areas of damaged wood decking and perimeter edge would need to be removed and replaced prior to the new roof installation. Excessive snow loading was a major problem for this facility as well as icing in the perimeter gutters.

The REMTEK Recommendation
REMTEK provided a new 20-Year-Warranted mechanically-seamed Berridge Zeelock metal roofing system. This system would allow for the continuous roll forming of the panel to avoid any horizontal seams on the new roof.
A major challenge for this project was reinforcing the existing structure to allow for the direct placement of the roll forming machine on the roof itself. Once this was completed, the new rolled panels could be easily moved into place for seaming.
In addition, Remtek provided an engineered gutter system and snow guards that would reduce the amount of snow damage and ensure the new gutters would not be damaged from future ice loads.
